| Ed Edahl is a former merchant sailor, Army officer, Vietnam veteran, English teacher, and an award-winning, long-time photographer whose interest in how things work and how they look is evident in his photos. After many years of doing corporate and industrial and educational photography out of his New York studio, Edahl has for the past six years been working mostly for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, documenting emergency and rescue operations related to presidentially declared national disasters. His ability to work independently from central supervision and in harmony with local conditions has been essential to these assignments. In a helicopter, an SUV or on the ground in steel-toed boots, Edahl can take the assignment, go to the site, produce the photos and return, on budget and on time, in touch as necessary with cell phones or the Internet. His experience, ideas and skills make him a rock-solid resource for public and private enterprises. |
